This untitled volume has been written, perhaps, by a British I.C.S. officer who served as governor of Punjab from 1885 to 1999 during the British rule. It is in the form of a memoir and based on his observations and experiences as top most administrative official. His tone and tenor is appreciative even laudatory for the British rule but expresses his doubts about the continuance of British rule in India in the concluding part of his book.
