The Muslim Politics in Punjab (1919-1937)

Description This research dissertation analyses the various Muslim Political movements between 1919 and 1937 in Punjab. Punjab being a Muslim majority State, its Muslim residents not only actively participated in major national politics which finally resulted in partition of India. The scholar's analysis of the communal situation in Punjab during this period is based on solid historical facts. The scholar's conclusion that Hindu-Muslim divine widened due to Hindu's nationalistic assertiveness and Muslim's sense of suspicion and insecurity led to the final divide - seems to be valid. The dissertation provides a glimpse into the Hindu and Muslim psyche which remained rabidly communal despite the sincere effort of some moderate and liberal leaders[edit]
