Poems Of Kabir

Description This English translation of selected poems of Saint Kabir, a medieval Indian Saint into English by the famous Tagore brings out the universal fatherhood of God and brotherhood of mankind. Kabir, being a reformist crusade, against religious bigotry, fundamentalism and exclusivity, preached a message of universal love of God for his creation. The translation of these poems highlights the secular outlook of Kabir and his repudiation of narrow-mindedness and compartmentalization preached by both Hinduism and Islam. Tagore's translation is as superb and captivating as the original poems. This translated collection opens a window of Indian spiritualism and mysticism to the western readers.[edit]
