Influence Of The Sikh Activities On The Indian Society Between (1761-1809)
|
Description |
This research dissertation projects the thesis that the 18th century Sikh warriors placed Punjab on the political map of the world as an independent entity in the 18th century after freeing it from Mughal and Afghan dominance. The 18th century Sikh activities and their success in establishing a sovereign state influenced the Indian society in multiple ways. This well-researched, well-documented thesis documents the strengths and weakness of Sikh character and the major socio-religious movements in Sikh society during this period which had a salutary effect on the Indian society. The scholar has almost given a year by year account of Sikh activities between 1761 and 1809 and tries to state that Sikh activities brought about an awakening in Indian society. It is a very genuine, credible and exhaustive record of 18th century Sikh history. It reflects the high caliber of the author as a research scholar[edit]
