S. Dyal Singh Majithia (1839-1898) was one of the most leading personalities of Punjabi in the later part of 19th century. He was the founder of the leading English newspaper of the North India, "The Tribune", and founder of Dyal Singh Collage and Dyal Singh library. He was instrumental in bringing about a social, cultural, educational and political awakening among the people through his outstanding intellectual and philanthropist activities.
