Balayo Chirag (Guru Nanak Jeeveni)
|
Description |
This volume contains a detailed record of Guru Nanak Dev ji's biography, his long travels (Udassis), his stay at Sultanpur and Kartarpur as well as the essence of his gospel and teachings. It tries to sift through the myths associated with Guru Nanak's life and separates the grain of truth from the chaff of mythological content given in Janamsakhis. It is also survey of the social-religious and political situation in India preceding Guru Nanak's times and his contribution to the Indian society and religion. The author has a proficient command over the language which makes his narration scholarly. The narration being heavily dotted with quotations from Gurbani and Urdu literature shows the author's vast reading and knowledge of other languages[edit]
