Commission on Centre-State Relations Report Part-II

Description This document contains a questionnaire on center-state relations in India prepared by the Justice R. S. Sarkaria Commission appointed by government of India. It also contains replies and representations made by some of the Indian states as well as major national and regional political parties. The document touches major aspects of India's polity and governance. It is a well thought out and comprehensive questionnaire on significant constitutional provisions as well as controversial sections which create tensions between the central and some state governments. The replies given by states and political parties make a forceful plea for more powers to the states in view of the federal structure of India's polity[edit]
