|
Description |
This volume of the Annual Register records a brief descriptive account of major political, economic, Industrial, educational and social events which occurred in India during the later six month period of the year 1934. It is a date, month wise chronological record of events in that year. The record is comprehensive, factual, and full of statistics. Although no conclusions have been drawn, the record reflects the poverty, the rigid caste divisions, discrimination of Indians in services vis a vis the British, political turmoil and communal differences among Indians. The reader can feel the pulse of the times after going through the record of everyday occurrences. It provides a glimpse into the freedom struggle of India.
