Lal Singh was accused of sabotaging the British treaty of handing over the Kashmir to Raja Gulab Singh in reward for his services rendered to the British to bring about a treaty between the British and the Lahore Darbar after the first Anglo-Sikh war. The editor has painstakingly edited the existing material and presented a reliable document of this political trial. It is a good auxiliary source of Punjab and Sikh history.[edit]
