Sikh Dharam Da Mudh Te Uthan

Description This Punjabi translated version from an ancient Persian source traces the history of the Sikh right from the beginning of Guru Nanak to the time of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. The author being a Muslim does not consider Sikhism a full-fledged religion, but calls it a sort of Sect. Despite this, he acknowledges the commitment of the Sikhs towards their Gurus and acknowledges the grit, courage and bravery of the Sikhs in combating the might of the Mughal Empire's military might and Afghan invaders loot and plunder. The account on the whole, is episodic, sketchy, somewhat distorted and full of personal observations. The Punjabi translation is faithful to the original text, fluent and readable without any comments by the translators.[edit]
