Five Years of India

Description This travelogue gives a vivid account of Indian landscape in the early years (1830s) of 19th century by a British military officer who served in India during those years. The account includes his sea journey from England to India, major towns and cities of India from the East to the West, from Calcutta to Kabul and the Himalayan Mountains. The grandeur and glory of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's royal court at Lahore and Royal wedding is also a part of the account. One gets a panoramic view of India as one reads this account.[edit]
