A Year on The Punjab Frontier in 1948-49
|
Description |
Memoirs and travelogues serve as very useful auxiliary sources of history of a region especially if these are written by sensible persons with a good observation. The account given in this volume gives a vivid and graphic description of the region of Multan, part of North West frontier province of present day Pakistan - the region as it was during the year 1848-49 during the days of British Colonial rule. It also gives an account of the revolt of Dewan Mulraj of Multan and its repression by the British. Just before the annexation of Punjab into the British Empire. The author, being an active participant in this military operation has given an authentic description of Multan and its rebel ruler. The volume also traces the whole history of Multan and its natives.[edit]
