The Convention on Genocide

Description The unprecedented crimes against humanity namely murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation and other inhuman alts of brutality committed against some sections of civilian population (Jews) in Germany under the Nazi rulers headed by Adolf Hitter invited revulsion and reaction at the international level. As a result, at an international convention held on December 11, 1946, under the aegis of U.N.O. a declaration was made against the guilty Nazi rulers and provisions were made to try and punish them under the U.N. Charter. Consequently, these perpetrators were tried and punished under the Nuremberg trials, this publication of the world body contains the major stipulations and resolution of this international convention which were endorsed by majority of U.N. member states. It clearly defines and classifies the nature of crimes against humanity and makes provisions for punishment to the wrong dress in the interest of world piece. It is a landmark document to ensure world peace in future[edit]
