Despite the title of this volume claiming to be 'Twarikh' or history of Sikh religion, it is not a strictly chronological history of Sikhism. Its narration is anecdotal and subjectively selective. Beginning from the Guruship of Guru Arjan Dev (The fifth Sikh Guru), it narrates events associated with Guru Arjan, Guru Har Gobind, Guru Teg Bahadur and Guru Gobind Singh. It is less of a historical narration as such but gives a bird's eye view of some of the landmark events of Sikh Gurus. It is a book more suitable for a devout Sikh reader rather than critical researcher of Sikh history[edit]
