Humour in early Punjabi drama is very rare and very often obscene, vulgar and loaded with double entendered words. These five one act plays make a departure from this ugly tradition. They evoke humour, laughter and contempt at the vice-ridden lives of capitalist protagonists and their contemptuous pranks. Such plays elevate the quality of Punjabi drama.[edit]
