Description This is a collection of research papers on the science of language, or linguistics written by national and international scholars and read at a seminar. The papers explore the history of language, linguistics in all its verbal and written formats and their variety of connotations. The papers, being highly technical and scholarly, are beyond the grasp of ordinary readers but are highly useful to the budding scholars of linguistics. Some papers make a comparative study of some western and eastern languages to reveal the skill of expression and articulation of these languages. The comparative linguistic brevity of some languages has also been brought out
