Title Narrative of The Second Sikh War
Description The four Anglo-Sikh wars provide a tragic prelude to the final annexation of Punjab into the British Empire within a short span to ten years after the demise of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1839. Each Anglo-Sikh war put forth a host of loyal Sikh warriors as well as traitors. This book gives an eye-witness account of second Anglo-Sikh war fought on the battlefields of Ram Nagar, Chillianwallah and Goojrat written by a British army officer who himself held on import staff post in the theatre of war. It started with a rebellion of governor of Multan Moolraj and escalated into a full scale war between the British and the Sikhs. The book is full of author's insights into the motives and maneuvers of men engaged in the war of bullets and diplomacy. It is an authentic reliable Auxiliary source of Punjab and Sikh history of the mid nineteenth century.
