Title |
Hinduyan Te Chuhriyan Da Jung |
Description |
Indian society has been deeply entrenched in caste system which has created social, economic inequality and evils like untouchability. Many social reformers have tried to eradicate this social malady and India after independence has constitutionally abolished untouchability. This small poetic composition gives an imaginary effort of a well-meaning person to remove this caste war by undertaking a fast unto death till Brahmins and scheduled castes shed their caste prejudices. The hero succeeds in his noble enterprise. This composition gives us a glimpse into the rabidly ridden caste society of India and the concern of the social activists. The composition is racy, rhythmical and meant to be recited orally to a group of listeners. It belongs to the folklore genre. |
